| Opis rewersu | The emperor Constantine III stands in full military attire, facing right, draped and cuirassed. In his right hand he holds a long standard (labarum), while his left hand supports a Victory-on-globe — a small winged Victory standing atop an orb — emblematic of imperial triumph. His left foot treads upon a seated captive, a compositional motif conveying military supremacy over barbarian enemies. The reverse legend is divided across the field, with the mint mark AR and the control mark CONOB appearing in the exergue, the latter denoting refined gold struck at Constantinople's standard. |
