Reverse description Two crowned facing busts in close juxtaposition: Constantine VII (left), youthful and beardless, and Romanos I (right), mature and bearded, both emperors wearing the imperial loros and jointly holding a long patriarchal cross placed between them. The busts are rendered frontally in the Byzantine hieratic tradition, with the abbreviated imperial titulature disposed to either side in the field.
