Obverse description Laureate and rosette-diademed bust of Constans, draped and cuirassed, facing right, set within a wreath border. The emperor's effigy displays the combined attributes of civic and military authority, with the laureate crown supplemented by a jewelled rosette diadem. The legend encircles the bust in the field. The portrait is rendered in the late Roman frontal-tending style characteristic of the Constantinian dynasty.
