Additional information

The OB VICTORIAM TRIVMFALEM solidi of Constans are tied to his campaign against the Franks in late 341 or early 342, a relatively minor military action that Constans nonetheless chose to celebrate with the full apparatus of triumphal coinage. The Treveri mint was the natural issuing authority — the city had served as an imperial residence and western administrative hub since Diocletian's reorganization, and it remained Constans's principal base in the northwest.

RIC VIII 124 is scarce in the census. Treveri output under Constans was modest compared to Siscia or Thessalonica during this period.
