Obverse description Right-facing draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Constans, laureate and rosette-diademed, with a pearl-beaded diadem decorated with a central rosette motif visible above the brow. The emperor wears a paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, and a jewelled necklace is discernible at the throat. The portrait is rendered in the refined late Constantinian court style, with finely striated hair and an authoritative profile. The legend is enclosed within a dotted border and a wreath border, reading CONSTANS AVGVSTVS.
