Two military standards are positioned to the right of the figure, symbolising imperial command over the armies. The reverse legend is divided by the central figure and reads across the field in two parts. The composition reflects the PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS type traditional for junior imperial heirs, here adapted for the solidus denomination at the Thessalonica mint under the fifth officina. |
