| Beschrijving keerzijde | The enthroned personification of Constantinopolis is depicted seated in three-quarter view, helmeted and draped, with her head turned to the right. In her right hand she holds a long sceptre, while her left hand, raised palm upward, supports a globus. Her right foot rests upon a ship's prow, symbolising naval dominion. The throne is ornamented with lions' heads on its terminals. An officina numeral appears within the reverse legend, and the mintmark CONOB is placed in the exergue, denoting the Constantinople mint and fine gold standard. |
