Obverse description Right-facing bust of the Emperor Arcadius rendered in high relief, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed in the late antique imperial tradition. The elaborate pearl diadem is clearly articulated across the brow, and the cuirass is visible at the shoulder with paludamentum fastened at the right. The effigy conveys the youthful features characteristic of early Arcadian portraiture. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise from the lower left field.
