| Descrizione del dritto | Frontal bust of Emperor Arcadius facing three-quarters right, helmeted with a plumed and pearl-diademed helmet, wearing elaborately decorated imperial cuirass and paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder. The emperor holds a spear diagonally over his right shoulder and a shield ornamented with a horseman motif is visible at the left. The effigy is rendered in the stiff, hieratic style characteristic of late Roman imperial coinage. The surrounding Latin legend reads D N ARCADI-VS P F AVG, identifying the emperor as Dominus Noster Arcadius, Pius Felix Augustus. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The enthroned figure of Constantinopolis seated facing, helmeted and in military attire, holding a long sceptre topped with a crossbar in the left hand and a Victory statuette on a globe in the raised right hand, a shield resting at her left side and an eagle standing at lower left. A small winged Victory hovers to the upper right, presenting a wreath toward the central figure. The surrounding Latin legend reads CONCORDI-A AVGG, invoking the harmony of the two Augusti, while the mint control mark COMOB appears in the exergue, denoting gold of the highest standard struck at Thessalonica. |
