| Beschrijving voorzijde | Frontal helmeted and cuirassed bust of Emperor Anthemius, the helmet adorned with a plume and jewelled diadem, the cuirass elaborately decorated. The emperor holds a spear over his right shoulder with his right hand, while on his left arm he bears a shield ornamented with a horseman riding down a fallen enemy, a classic imperial iconographic motif. The legend encircles the bust, rendered in crisp Latin capitals. |
