| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, the field displays two large conjoined Gothic initials 'G' and 'B', standing for Giorgio Benzoni, rendered in an elaborate uncial script characteristic of early fifteenth-century Lombard coinage. The monogram is boldly executed and occupies the majority of the flan. A circular legend in Gothic uncial characters surrounds the inner circle, reading the ruler's name and title. The overall design is typical of the feudal signorial coinage of northern Italy, emphasizing personal heraldic identification over iconographic imagery. |
