Obverse description Crowned shield of Geneva arms, divided quarterly, displaying in the sinister half a standing eagle and in the dexter half a key, all within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend is partially visible in the field, with the date appearing at the base of the design. The irregular flan and hammered technique produce a characteristic uneven surface typical of 16th-century Swiss municipal coinage.
