The effigy is rendered in a neoclassical style with fine detail in the hair. A circular legend surrounds the portrait, reading CARL XIV SVERIGES NORR. G. O. V. KONUNG, denoting his titles as King of Sweden, Norway, the Goths and the Wends. The border consists of a continuous row of raised dots.
