Obverse description Bare male head facing right, rendered in a Romanised Celtic style with incised linear hair detail and a schematised ear. The legend VIR appears to the right of the portrait and CO to the left, both in Latin characters. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with a beaded border encircling the design. The portraiture reflects the strong Mediterranean artistic influence adopted by southern British rulers of the early first century AD.
