Obverse description Central panel containing an inscription, frequently blundered, arranged within a framework of crossed wreaths; a decorative ring ornament occupies each of the four corners of the panel. The overall design reflects the geometric and schematic artistic conventions characteristic of late British Iron Age coinage. The lettering, rendered in a debased Latin script, reads VE(R) or VII depending on the die variety.

Reverse description A stylised horse advancing to the right, depicted in the dynamic, abstracted manner typical of late Iron Age British coinage. A rein trails from the horse's nose, passing between the forelegs and hindlegs, a distinctive diagnostic feature of this type. The tribal ruler's name appears as an inscription in the field before the horse. The composition is open and bold, executed in the schematic Celtic tradition with minimal ground line.
