Obverse description Central rectangular panel containing the abbreviated Latin legend TASC(I), the name of the Catuvellauni ruler Tasciovanos, rendered in bold Celtic lettering. The panel is framed by a stylised vertical wreath of curvilinear foliage, typical of Late Iron Age British coinage. A decorative border of pellets or beaded elements runs along the periphery of the flan. The overall design reflects the adoption of Roman epigraphic conventions within a distinctly Celtic artistic idiom.
