The Worthing Wonder type takes its name from the concentration of finds around the Sussex coast, territory controlled by the Atrebates and their southern clients the Regini in the decades bracketing Caesar's expeditions to Britain. Whether the disruption of Caesar's 55 and 54 BC landings accelerated or merely coincided with shifts in local coin production is unresolved, but the type's date range sits squarely across that moment of contact.
ABC 659 is among the more lightly distributed of the southern British silver units, with a find record that clusters tightly enough to suggest highly localized circulation rather than inter-tribal exchange.
