Obverse description A stylised boar depicted in profile occupies the central field, rendered in the characteristic abstracted Celtic artistic tradition. The animal's body is defined by bold linear forms, with a prominent ridged mane along the back and a curved snout. A central pellet appears on the boar's flank on certain die varieties (VA 657-03), while others omit this feature (VA 657-01). The surrounding field is populated with a large central annulet and additional pellets and crescentic forms arranged around the periphery. The flan is irregular, as is typical of hand-struck Celtic coinage of this period.
