| 表面の説明 | Stylized Celtic boar facing right, rendered in the abstract La Tène artistic tradition with bold, fluid lines. A prominent pellet decorates the shoulder of the animal, serving as a characteristic design element of this Icenian series. The boar's body is rendered with exaggerated, decorative musculature typical of Celtic coinage, with vestigial features of the original Macedonian prototype now fully absorbed into native artistic convention. The surrounding field is plain and irregular, consistent with the flan preparation techniques of British Iron Age coinage. |

| 裏面の説明 | Stylized Celtic horse advancing left, depicted in the characteristic abstract manner of Icenian silver coinage, with disjointed limbs and exaggerated decorative pellet ornaments scattered across the field. A spoked wheel device is positioned above the horse, a motif with solar or votive symbolism common in British Celtic numismatic iconography. A distinctive cotter-pin or anchor-shaped device appears below the horse, serving as a key diagnostic feature for the attribution of this type within the Icenian C series. Pellets and curved ornamental elements fill the field, reflecting the highly stylized and symbolic artistic language of Iron Age British coinage. |

The Iceni occupied what is now Norfolk and northern Suffolk, and their silver coinage was struck and circulated entirely within that territory — almost no Icenian coins turn up in the archaeological record beyond their tribal boundaries. The 'C' classification in Van Arsdell's typology groups a cluster of related dies showing progressive stylistic drift, which is why this single type spans three consecutive Mack numbers.
The tribe would later gain historical notoriety under Boudica around 60 AD, but this coinage predates that revolt by roughly three generations.
