Obverse description Highly stylised Celtic abstraction of a human head in left profile, executed in the La Tène artistic tradition. A prominent central boss occupies the facial field, representing a schematised eye or facial feature. The hair is rendered as a series of flowing lines terminating in a pellet-tipped arrangement, characteristic of the Dobunni coinage tradition. The design is deeply abstract, reducing the anthropomorphic form to its essential geometric components.
