| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stylised horse prancing to the right occupies the central field, rendered in the abstract Celtic manner characteristic of Catuvellaunian coinage of the early first century AD. The horse displays a raised foreleg, flowing mane rendered as a series of curved strokes, and a prominent body with exaggerated musculature. Partial Latin legend appears around the periphery of the flan, reading TASCIO and DIAS or DIASS in fragmentary form, referencing the issuing authority Tasciovanus and the moneyer or mint designator Dias. Additional decorative elements, including pellets and linear ornaments, are visible in the field around the horse. The irregular flan and variable strike are consistent with the hand-hammered production technique of Late Iron Age British coinage. |
