| Obverse description | Central field bearing the abbreviated Latin legend CVN within a decorative wreath border composed of pellets and oval bosses arranged in a continuous ring around the periphery. The lettering, abbreviating the name of the issuing ruler Cunobelin, is rendered in bold, primitively incised characters occupying the centre of the flan. The overall design is characteristic of late British Iron Age coinage, combining Celtic decorative sensibility with nascent use of Latin script. |

| Reverse description | A bitch (female dog) depicted striding to the right, her forelegs raised and clutching a serpent in her paws, the snake's body extending across the field in a sinuous curve. The composition exhibits vigorous Celtic naturalism, with the animal rendered in a lively, stylised manner typical of Cunobelinian silver issues. Below the principal device, a decorative exergual panel contains the abbreviated legend CVN. Additional pellets and a beaded border element are visible in the field. |
