The Corieltauvi occupied a territory roughly corresponding to the modern East Midlands, and their coinage developed later than that of the southeastern tribes — largely insulated from direct Roman commercial pressure until Caesar's expeditions of 55 and 54 BC began reshaping trade networks across Britain. This proto-boar type sits at the early end of Corieltauvi silver production, when the tribe's moneyers were still working out a consistent iconographic vocabulary.
