The "Bury" types take their name from the Bury St Edmunds hoard, a major East Anglian find that first brought this series to scholarly attention. The Iceni occupied what is now Norfolk and Suffolk, and their silver coinage was struck entirely without reference to Roman authority — these predate the client-kingdom arrangements that followed the Claudian invasion of 43 AD by decades. Production likely ceased well before the revolt of Boudica in 60–61 AD rendered the question moot.
The ABC 1498 / Spink 432 grouping encompasses a tightly clustered die series, suggesting controlled output from a single tribal mint rather than dispersed production.
