The overall design reflects the progressive abstraction of the Macedonian Philip II gold stater prototype characteristic of Durotrigan coinage. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A severely disjointed and abstracted horse prancing left, rendered in the characteristic late Durotrigan idiom. The horse's body is composed of a series of crescents and curved lines, with a rectangular angular head, four near-vertical legs rendered as straight strokes, and a tail formed by three sloping lines with pellets interspersed between them. A single pellet appears below the horse. Above the horse, twelve pellets are arranged in an arc accompanied by a series of pellet-in-ring motifs forming a decorative border. To the left of the horse appears a crescent, while to the right a pellet flanked by two attached crescents provides further ornamentation, all typical of the Badbury Rings / Pellet and Ring sub-type. |
