Obverse description A bull butting right, depicted above an exergual line, with the inscription VERICA appearing inverted above the bull and REX inscribed below the exergual line. The design is enclosed within a pellet border. The crude workmanship and irregular flan are consistent with contemporary counterfeit production, distinguishing this piece from officially issued coinage of Verica, king of the Atrebates.
