Obverse description Crudely rendered, highly abstracted head of Apollo facing right, rendered in a debased Celtic idiom characteristic of contemporary forgeries. The wreath is depicted with schematic leaves pointing upward, accompanied by a draped cloak and crescent motifs flanking the head. The die was engraved with a laurel leaf detail that is filled in on the die itself and consequently not struck up on the coin's surface. The overall style reflects a significant departure from the prototype stater, with the facial features reduced to rudimentary linear elements in the field.

Reverse description Disjointed and highly schematised horse progressing left, rendered in a crude Celtic abstract style typical of Iron Age British contemporary counterfeits. The horse's head is depicted as a rectangular form, with the body composed of a series of crescent shapes, and four vertical strokes representing the legs. Three roughly horizontal lines form the tail, with a pellet positioned below the horse. Twelve pellets and a small elliptical pellet appear in the upper field, and a coffee-bean motif is placed above the tail.
