The royal crown surmounting the escutcheon is ornate and rendered in fine detail. The date 1652 appears in the upper portion of the legend to the left of the crown. The circular Latin legend surrounds the shield, reading +DOMINVS.ADIVTOR.ET.REDE.MEVS, broken around the crowned arms. The rim displays a characteristic milled or grained border. |
