Reverse description Within a raised beaded circular border, a crowned heraldic shield displays a rampant lion passant, representing the arms of the United Provinces; the crown surmounting the shield is rendered in fine relief with acanthus-leaf and pearl decoration. The circumferential legend, separated by pellets, reads the provincial motto in Latin. The entire design is struck on a square klippe flan with the circular device centered within the diamond-oriented planchet, with the corners of the square extending beyond the design field. A privy mark appears at the top of the shield.
