The royal crown surmounting the shield is rendered in fine detail with pellets and foliate ornament. The encircling Latin motto legend runs continuously around the periphery of the field, separated from the inner design by a beaded border. The overall design follows the standard heraldic convention of the Dutch Republic coinage of this series. |
