Obverse description Full-length figure of an armoured knight standing facing right, brandishing a sword raised over his right shoulder and bearing a shield charged with the Kampen civic coat of arms at his left side. The date is divided by the knight's figure and appears within the inner circle border. The legend is arranged in two segments separated by the central device, reading around the circumference within a beaded or plain inner circle. The overall style is consistent with mid-seventeenth-century Dutch civic coinage, with bold relief and relatively crude hammered execution.
