Obverse description Head of Turms (the Etruscan equivalent of Hermes/Mercury) facing left, wearing a winged petasos. The ethnic legend PVPLVNA appears above the head in archaic Etruscan characters, while the numeral V, denoting the denomination of five asses, is placed in the field behind the head. The style is characteristic of the Populonian mint's third series coinage, rendered with confident, if somewhat archaic, engraving.
