Obverse description Bare male head facing left, rendered in fine archaic-influenced style characteristic of Etruscan coinage, with elaborately curled hair framing the face. The features are well-defined, exhibiting a confident artistic execution typical of the Populonian silver series. The numeral V, denoting the denomination of 5 Asses, appears in the field to the rear of the head. The flan is small and irregularly shaped, consistent with the hammered coinage of this period and region.
