Obverse description Youthful male head facing right, rendered in archaic Etruscan style with finely engraved hair swept back in tresses. The numeral VII, denoting the value of 2½ asses, appears in the left field behind the head. The portrait is executed with fine classical detail typical of Populonian coinage, set within a plain, irregularly shaped flan.
