| Descrizione del dritto | Central field bearing the Shahada rendered in bold, deeply struck Arabic calligraphy across two lines within a lobed cartouche. The first line reads the declaration of faith 'La ilaha illa Allah' (There is no god but God), and the second line reads 'Muhammad rasul Allah' (Muhammad is the messenger of God). A partial marginal legend encircles the cartouche, partially visible on the irregular flan. The die is struck on a roughly round, irregularly shaped hammered flan typical of Timurid provincial silver coinage of the mid-fifteenth century. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central field divided into three horizontal registers of Arabic inscription within a lobed cartouche. The uppermost line bears the ruler's honorific title 'Al-Sultan al-A'zam' (The Most Supreme Sultan), the middle line gives the ruler's name 'Abu Sa'id', and the lower line records the mint name 'Astarabad'. The flan is irregular and slightly oval, consistent with hand-hammered Timurid quarter-tanka coinage struck at the Astarabad mint during AH 855-873. |
