| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of the usurper Magnentius facing right, rendered in a robust late Roman style with short, neatly combed hair and a firm, idealized profile. The emperor wears a paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, visible beneath the cuirass. A beaded border encircles the coin's edge. The obverse legend arcs around the bust in Latin capitals, identifying the emperor by his imperial titles. A flan crack is visible across the lower portion of the coin. |

In her raised right hand she holds an inverted spear, while her left hand rests upon a large round shield set upon the ground at her side. The figure is rendered in a confident, classicizing style consistent with mid-4th century western imperial coinage. The reverse legend is divided by the central figure, and the mintmark of the Trier mint appears in the exergue below. |
