Obverse description Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Honorius facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial style with fine linear detailing on the paludamentum and cuirass. The emperor's effigy occupies the full field of this small flan, with the diadem clearly visible across the brow. The encircling legend D N HONORIVS P F AVG runs clockwise around the bust, partially contained within a beaded border. The portrait exhibits the somewhat stylized, frontal-tending aesthetic characteristic of early fifth-century Western Roman silver coinage. The flan is irregular, a typical feature of hammered late Roman siliquae.
