Reverse description The personification of Roma is depicted seated to the left upon a cuirass, holding a small Victory on a globe in her right hand and a reversed spear in her left, typifying the martial virtue of the Roman state. The figure is rendered in a stiff, late antique style with drapery falling over the lower limbs. The reverse legend VIRTVS RO-MANORVM arcs around the field, while the mintmark TRPS appears in the exergue, identifying the Trier (Augusta Treverorum) mint and its workshop.
