Beschrijving keerzijde A crowned double-headed eagle displayed in the central field, serving as the dynastic arms of Wallachia under Mihail Radu. The eagle's two heads face outward to either side beneath a single crown, rendered in the bold, flat relief characteristic of hammered Wallachian bronze coinage of the mid-17th century. A circular Latin legend, referencing the biblical motto from Romans VIII:31, surrounds the central device, punctuated by a floral stop at the beginning of the inscription.

Aanvullende informatie

Mihail Radu's tenure as Prince of Wallachia was fractured and contested — he ruled in multiple interrupted stints during the 1650s, navigating Ottoman pressure and rival claimants simultaneously. Small bronze issues of this type circulated in a principality that was, in practical terms, a tributary buffer state, its coinage policy dictated as much by Istanbul as by Târgoviște.

The fifth series designation in the MBR classification reflects the numismatic attempt to sequence issues across his discontinuous reigns — an editorial decision, not a mint distinction.
