Obverse description Male head facing left, identified as Melqart or possibly Hamilcar Barca, rendered in the Hellenistic style with finely detailed curly hair bound by a diadem or wreath. The portrait displays strong, idealized facial features with a prominent nose and defined jaw, closely echoing the portraiture conventions of contemporary Hellenistic monarchs. A beaded border encircles the entire field.

Reverse description A war elephant advancing to the right, depicted in profile with naturalistic musculature and a raised trunk. Atop the elephant sits a howdah or military tower with a driver visible, conveying the martial character of the Barcid campaigns in Iberia. A lance or spear is shown diagonally beneath the animal, and a Punic inscription appears in the field. The design is enclosed within a beaded border.
