Aanvullende informatie

Sardinia passed under Carthaginian administrative control by the mid-fourth century BC, and the island's bronze coinage was produced largely to pay local troops and garrisons rather than to facilitate trade with the wider Mediterranean. The issues attributed to this period precede Rome's seizure of the island in 238 BC — an annexation that came not through conquest but through opportunistic extortion while Carthage was preoccupied settling the Mercenary War.

SNG Copenhagen 164 places this piece firmly within the Punic Sardinian series, a grouping that remains incompletely die-studied compared to the Sicilian issues of the same authority.
