| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a bold circular Arabic Naskh legend arranged in a distinctive cartouche-like composition encircling the central field. The Shahada — the Islamic declaration of faith — is prominently inscribed, reading 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God,' in a style consistent with Timurid-Mughal religious coinage conventions. Surrounding decorative scroll or floral vine elements frame the central inscription, lending an ornamental quality to the die. The names of the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs (Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali) appear within the legend, affirming Sunni orthodoxy. The strike is bold though slightly uneven, characteristic of hammered production at the Agra mint in the early sixteenth century. |
