Reverse description Central field bearing a three-line Arabic inscription in nasta'liq script reading 'Khallada Allahu Mulkahu / Zarb Mashhad / 1152' (May God perpetuate his reign / Struck at Mashhad / 1152 AH), arranged within a plain border. The mint name 'Mashhad' and the AH date 1152 appear in the lower portion of the field. The legends are struck in the bold, somewhat crowded style typical of Afsharid provincial coinage, with the flan showing slight irregularity consistent with hammered manufacture.
