Obverse description Draped bust of Demeter facing right, her hair bound and adorned with a wreath of grain ears, rendered in the Hellenistic provincial style characteristic of Paestum during the Second Punic War period. The portrait is set within an unadorned field on a compact flan. The goddess is depicted with naturalistic facial features, consistent with the iconographic tradition associating Demeter with the fertile agricultural region of Lucania. No legend appears on the obverse.
