| Reverse description | A caduceus, the winged staff of Hermes, depicted upright in the center of the field, flanked on either side by a branch of an olive or laurel wreath that frames the entire design. The Greek letters K and A, representing the civic abbreviation for Kanusion (Canusium), are placed to the left and right of the caduceus respectively. The wreath terminates at the base, encircling the central device in a symmetrical composition. The design is characteristic of the civic bronze coinage of Apulian communities in the Hellenistic period. |
