Reverse description A cornucopiae, abundantly filled and depicted upright, occupies the central field, flanked by a caduceus to the left — both emblems alluding to the colony's name Copia, meaning abundance. Two pellets serving as the mark of value for the sextans are placed in the left field. The legend COPIA is inscribed in Latin characters, identifying the issuing colonial authority. The reverse devices are rendered in the plain, functional style characteristic of Roman colonial bronzes of the early second century BC.
