| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse field displays the civic crown inscription in three lines — S P Q R / OB / CIV SER — set within a prominent, finely rendered oak wreath (corona civica) tied at the base with a bow, the lobed oak leaves and acorns depicted with considerable sculptural detail. The wreath entirely fills the flan, with no exergue line, and the legend is presented in bold, well-spaced capitals. This type evokes the corona civica, the highest Roman civic honour, here conferred upon Vespasian by the Senate and People of Rome as saviour of the citizens. |
