| 背面描述 | The goddess Pax depicted standing facing left, rendered as a draped female figure in classical contrapposto stance. She extends her right hand forward, holding an olive branch — the primary symbol of peace — while her left arm cradles a long caduceus or sceptre resting against her shoulder. The large senatorial authorisation marks S and C (Senatus Consultum) flank the figure in the left and right fields respectively, as was standard on Flavian bronze coinage. The surrounding legend PAX AVGVSTI arcs around the upper periphery of the reverse. The type celebrates the Pax Romana re-established under Vespasian following the civil wars of 69 AD. |
