Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in the characteristically realistic, somewhat veristic portrait style of the Flavian dynasty. The emperor's mature features — including a strong brow, defined jaw, and short neck — are rendered with crisp detail typical of early Flavian imperial coinage. A light drapery is visible at the truncation of the bust. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise around the obverse field.
