Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered with characteristic portraiture of the Flavian dynasty emphasizing his strong, mature features. The emperor is depicted with a draped shoulder visible at the bust truncation, consistent with Flavian sestertius types. The encircling Latin legend runs along the beaded border of the flan, beginning at approximately seven o'clock and reading clockwise. The die work reflects the competent official style of the Rome mint under Vespasian's early reign.
